Well it was a beautiful weekend for those who travelled to Young on the 17th & 18th April. The Young Dressage Association did a wonderful job in preparing the grounds and acknowledging the many sponsors of this year’s event. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the Bendick Murrell grounds always makes for a pleasant experience for those attending YDA events.

The OEC was represented in the Preliminary through to Advanced classes with the following combinations making the drive: Susan Madden & Warrawee Chain Reeaction (Prelim), Olivia Wass & The Rocket (Novice), Simone Pye & Pretty Harmony (Novice), Judy Brock & Belcam Albata (Novice), Sandy Croghan & Double TT Disclosure (Elementary), Jan Cookson & Jaybee Allira (Elementary & Medium), Diana Tremain & Bridgford Speculator (Elementary, Medium & Prix Caprilli), and Diana Tremain & Bridgford Fluff (Medium, Advanced and Prix Caprilli).

Lee Manny and Eileen Gibson also travelled to Young in their invaluable role as judges. Of course no team is complete without some super strappers, so a big thankyou to Sharon Kirby, Craig Arms, Gillian Hill and Louise Wass. What a turn out!

The competition at the Championships was tough, with very big classes and some big name combinations. “Team Dubbo” did a fantastic job to achieve the following placings: 

Olivia Wass & The Rocket – 3rd Junior Novice 2C, 7th Pony Novice 2C and 7th Pony Novice 2D
Simone Pye & Pretty Harmony – 3rd Novice 2A, 6th Novice 2B and 6th Novice 2C
Diana Tremain & Bridgford Speculator – 7th Elem 3C, 3rd Elem 3D, 6th Med 4B & 2nd in the Prix Caprilli!
Jan Cookson & Jaybee Allira – 7th in the Elementary 3D
Sandy Croghan & Double TT Disclosure – 8th in the Elementary 3D
Diana Tremain & Bridgford Fluff – 8th in the Advanced 5B & 5C, 8th Medium 4B & 5th in the Prix Caprilli.
